Beyonce is an international style icon, and her eldest daughter Blue Ivy certainly takes after her in the fashion stakes. Blue Ivy’s own unique wardrobe comprises bespoke Gucci pieces teamed with Dolce & Gabbana, fairytale red-carpet gowns, cute floral twin sets mixed with Converse Classics and statement jackets – a wardrobe of dreams for a little girl.

Blue Ivy was recently spotted in another striking outfit, by Nigerian luxury childrenswear brand Petit Tribe. Wearing Petit Tribe contrast trim blouse and slouchy track pants, Blue Ivy is pictured with her Mum while Beyonce and Jay-Z are on their On The Run II tour in Europe.

Petit Tribe was founded by mother and entrepreneur Olatoun Jolaoso. Since her childhood, Olatoun has been inspired by the nomadic African Fulani tribe: their high ethical standards and unique, vibrant clothing style. Combining African influences with directional fashion, Petit Tribe garments feature strong, colourful prints and wearable cuts for boys and girls, from newborn to 12-year-olds. The collection is bold, vibrant and easy to wear, designed for the child who is curious and fun loving: an explorer.

The Petit Tribe brand, created by the team here at Leidar, is led by the signature giraffe head symbol. The visual identity features a crisp, contemporary wordmark and a signature geometric print. We worked with Olatoun from the start to develop the concept into a fully-formed clothing brand. Along with the brand we created the packaging and ecommerce website. Find out more here.

The brand was showcased at the prestigious Next Talents scout initiative of Vogue Italia & (owner of NET-A-PORTER) in Milan. Adding to the kudos is the fact that Petit Tribe is the very first childrenswear brand to be featured in ‘The Next Talents’, and is one of only eleven brands to be chosen from around the globe.

First lady of fashion, American Vogue’s editor Anna Wintour OBE, attended the event and visited the Petit Tribe stand. She personally complimented the branding and packaging that Leidar designed and produced.
